As a point of interest there are people out there that do not even know that it is a recognised problem.

I saw a C-HR in the same car park as I was in yesterday and just passed the time of day with the driver. I casually asked "Have you had a cracked windscreen yet?" to which he replied "Funny you should ask - yes". He was totally unaware of the issue but was going to go and see his dealer today about it as he thought that it was stone damage.

All UK Toyota dealership s have had a bulletin about this issue. That shows that they are aware and admit the fault. In my opinion they should be recalling all affected vehicles and sorting this out once and for all. What happens if you are abroad or many miles from home and it happens? There are no screens available without waiting weeks!!

Don't worry too much. The cracks we are focused on are inside laminate and not through the all the layers. Dealers say safe to drive even when I had both side showing. You'll get home, if, if it even happens to you which I hope not

Picked mine up last week and the manager insisted that the problem is now fixed.
Fingers crossed that he is correct.
I had a design problem with my new RAV4 when I bought it only months into it new run. It had a faulty steering column that needed re-designing and they fixed it quickly.
These things happen and I expect Toyota to be onto it very quickly.
Another good thing with Toyota is their policy for re-calls. I had that RAV4 11 years from new and was still getting re-calls for very, very minor things last year. My cousin is a Toyota mechanic and says how many other manufacturers would do that and it is an indication of the quality they work to.
There may be the odd problem but overall I trust the company and its reliability.
