Correct procedure when taking the C-HR to an automatic car wash.

I need help about the correct way to proceed in an automatic car wash. Normally, these car washes state that automatic transmission vehicles should keep their engine running and the gear shift lever in the “N” position.

However, after doing this in an automatic car wash (the kind that drags your car along a wash tunnel), a message of "Fault in the hybrid battery" appeared. After leaving the wash, the car worked correctly and no more fault message have appeared.

I understand that the gear lever should be in “N” during an automatic car wash, but should I have the hybrid system on?

I would appreciate your comments about it.

I never use N. Mostly because it doesn't charge the battery, as manual states clearly.
I'm always using P when washing my car.
Than fold the mirrors.
Than set wipers on manual (I'm keeping it on Auto at any other times).
If it's not cold and I have a good charge on the battery, I put the car on electric only.
And when parking sensors start beeping, mute those with the button on the wheel.

Likely while washing the car you got really low on battery. If the error doesn't reappear you should be good.
Thanks, drabisan. In the kind of automatic car washes I am talking about, I do not think using P is feasible. These washes make you fit one of your two front tires between two rollers. These rollers are connected to a link chain that drags your car along through the wash tunnel. For this, your wheels must be able to turn.
There are other automatic car washes where the car is placed in a fixed slot and it is the machine that moves along your car. Using "P" would be my choice there, and I would also turn the hybrid system off.
However, it was the first kind I was concerned about. My car definitely disliked rolling along in "N".
Ah, now I see! I didn't even considered the ones where car is rolled to reach the brushes! For those I believe N is the only option.
Never used that type in this life, sorry! Maxol here in Ireland only uses the ones where car stays and brushes are moving.
Sorry, can’t help as never use car washes. Have seen the swirls left on paint and would stress me out too much

Likely retiring in the next year. 36 hrs travel to get to north QLD is hard even in business class.
Looking at moving to the coast and maybe a bit of consultancy, but might just pack it all in

But the numbers of cars on the central highway you could play football easy on it, the estate was car free virtually. Some things we miss eh

Did you get to use the "real" business class lounge in Brisbane or the "pub" part? It's huge from what I remember. You had to walk past the main part that anyone with status could use, and then go further where only those on Business Class can use. They had some stations that used to make food to order as well as having plates ready to go.

Covid has decimated timetables and connections. I had some great flights to BNE, sub 24hrs, but now choices are limited. Connecting to Bundy would restrict you choices. Perhaps an overnight in Brisbane next time?

The real one. Was in business class anyway and have a BA / One World gold card.
The lounge in Brisbane is okay, but the Qantas First Lounge in Sydney is something else. The salt and pepper squid is lovely. The Qantas lounge in LAX is pretty good too, but once you’ve travelled Emirates First everything else (except for maybe Qatar First) is pretty lacking.

SYD and LAX are flagship lounges. However, I did get excited when I crossed the tier and was invited into the First lounge at BNE. A glass door I'd never noticed before slid open for me. It was nice, quiet, but not luxurious like they are today. This was 20+ years ago!

I was happy when BA first put in flat beds in J! I did a work trip out to Australia in their cradle seat just after I'd done Singapore Airlines in Y out there and back for xmas. Y was more comfortable. On my 2nd work trip out, I picked up a BA 747 after connecting from BNE on QF, and it reclining it all the way back was like heaven! Despite the foldable fan divider (pre screens). Better than AA F I did NYLON in sheepskin seats! Of course, it's all behind the times now but then it was a game changer.

I'm not a great fan of Emirates after unknowingly discovering their 777's were densified to 10 abreast in Y. I'm flying them again later this year, but to escort an elderly family member. They'll be in F out bound and J return, I'll be in Y. Only 1 5 hr sector on the dreaded 777, the rest on delightful A380s.

Cathay were my favourite pre pandemic. Good food. Comfortable seats with an arrival time into BNE that meant straight to bed. I despise 5am arrivals! And I hate having to do the Sydney Shuffle if I get routed there. It happened at xmas when my Lufty flight out of LCY was cancelled due to storms in FRA and they rebooked me days later out of LHR, direct to Oz on SQ but via SYD and worse - connecting onto Jetstar. Self loading freight really applies here as you had to take your bags on the shuttle bus and check in at the domestic, no transfer desk at the international. Despite having 2.5hrs to transfer we made it with 15 mins to spare.

I had Exec Platinum with AA at the time I was doing all my major flying. AA gave points away for anything back then! The upgrades were easier to get then as well. Between AA and BA I have too many miles that I can't burn fast enough.

Yep agree on BA points (Avios now). Almost impossible to use points on flights. Used to go to the Caribbean most years on points but really difficult to get any seats now, and have over 1 million to use. Guess will be redeeming for wine or something else eventually.
BA are really difficult on letting you use points to upgrade as well. Asked on a couple of long hauls last year and “computer said no” despite First being almost empty, and their upgrades are as common as rocking horse sh1t.
Emirates on the other hand tend to upgrade me from business to first on about 1 in 3 without asking, and if I look to upgrade myself then no problem they just take the points and upgrade.
