I'm very interested to hear what MPG you are achieving with your new Hybrid?

I believe its supposed to be very similar to the Prius, which online is showing an average of 59MPG

I need to change my Company car soon, currently have a Nissan Juke 1.5 diesel which gets me anything from 50-63 MPG (I don't like boring looking cars)
I'm also considering a BMW i3 (range extended version), Outlander PHEV and Jeep Renegade (Diesel)

57.94 mpg is about the same I'm getting on mine. Just that I'm in Ireland and that 4.8-4.9. I'm never carefully when fuel pump stops, so I can consider what dashboard said, a best 4.9l/100km a totally decent fuel consumption!

Funny fact: I selected 57.94 mpg and Google converted in in american ways. And that's not imperial way. Either are l/100km. Why it is that complicated?

This car likes country roads! It's really great to travel down country lanes without making much noise and hearing the birds and smelling the countryside.

With the windows down and the AC switched off I even got above 99.9mpg at one point in the journey. Switching units it read 2.7/100km and the whole trip coming out at 94.5mpg!

That's a crazy low number and as I've done several such trips on this tank so I will be interested to see the "brim to brim" average will be when I eventually fill up...

I am averaging around 70 to 75 mpg on most trips. I am driving in Eco Mode and sometimes with Air Con on.
It obviously depends on your driving style, what mode, distances, weather, wheel size and a whole other load of variables.

I'm looking forward to getting our C-HR in September and trying to achieve 70mpg.

Actually I've been practicing hybrid driving skills on our over thirsty Vauxhall Zafira (27mpg) and been getting 32mpg on a 60 mile run at speeds up to the legal limit. Quite an achievement. Previously I could only get that by driving no faster than 55mph on the motorway.

Yes the C-HR I'm really looking forward to driving for many reasons including the high mpg

I nearly got it to 65MPG nd it went back down to 64. I dont know how any one can get higher, but it does depend on the roads as well as your driving,.

I can easily get that screen with 99.9MPG but that is not the true MPG. Even on my C class mercedes hybrid I could get it to show 99.9MPG, but in reality it would get closer to 30MPG from the advertised 124MPG

MPG - the first 7 days.
I have just covered 940 miles at 65.5 mpg based on actual fuel usage between brim to brim full tanks. Pretty impressive as this was a mix of everything - motorways, traffic jams!!, hills, towns etc.,
On my last run I was nearly home when my fuel light came on so went straight to fill up but could only squeeze 36 litres in so there must be 7 litres held in reserve.

Yeah, when it says the range is zero you still have at least 50 miles in reserve in the tank. I always look to fill up as soon as I hit the zero range and get about 480 miles out of a tank, this time of the year.
Just topped up the tank, display shows 547 mls, so by your reckoning I should get 597mls before tank is empty. Car Speedometer Vehicle Gauge Automotive design

Hi Andrew, I usually achieve around that figure also however, the readings you get on fuel consumption is not accurate, the only way to really find out is to fill tank to tank then work out the average, i.e. divide fuel by mileage. I did this not long after reading a post on fuel consumption here and found that the MPG displayed on screen was actually higher than the actual fuel consumed

Of course in the winter months fuel consumption figures will drop but by how much I am yet to experience.

Hope this helps.

Nigel.

74 !!! not a chance ,
11000 miles now on car , Have changed to eco mode to , with a easy right foot mixed driving 65 66 mpg ,trying hard to get this
Heavier right foot may be some motorway 70 mph or big more town driving to bit mixed in all 55mpg to 57mpg .
120km on motorway to dublin May be bit more opps , 48mpg .
to get over 70mpg must be a lot of easy driving allow alot of flat road doesn't help mpg ,

This trip was achieved on mixed roads including motorway, although if you limit the speed on the motorway to 65 better results can be achieved than going at 70mph and to be honest you still arrive at the same time. I also have 11000 on my CHR and chose my journey to avoid motorway as much as possible therefore using the battery more. I also have a very light right foot which helps. There was also a mixture of gradient involved going up and down hills which helps build the battery pack up. Combine this with Hybrid Assistant and these results are possible. I always get into the 70's and also do this without annoying other drivers.

No, it's on my iPad, it's called 'Road Trip HD', I've been using it for years it was free when I got it but I think it's a fiver now. Everything I spend I enter with a mileage and it gives me a lot of statistics. I find it interesting and it's obviously real information as opposed to what the car says. When I fuel up always reset the mpg in the car so I compare the two. On average I would say the car overstates the mpg by about 10%

I have similar figures to Chris18 in regards of the mpg dropped now when we have the cold weather in morning around 5 degrees. Normally going to work I have to drive uphill so in warm weather it returned around 53mpg but now since the cold mornings it returned 43mpg. Returning home from work I drive downhill, it is consistent around 78mpg due to the outside temperature is around 15 degrees outside.

Hi Kelvin, just downloaded the app Fillup, did you enter the fuel in litres or converted them before entering them as gallons? As looking at your log you are getting imperial along with metric data.

Sorry for sounding a bit dense but just wondering, read the help sheet on the app so when I first refuel do I just enter the mileage along with checking the box 'Tank Full' then when refuelling again enter all details mileage, price, gallons into the app? Another point is that do you have to convert litres to gallons or does the app do this itself? Maybe it might be easier to enter all in metric then convert to imperial but then again, the mileage would be out if still in mph?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Regards
Nigel.

Hi Nigel,

Everytime I buy petrol I enter mileage, cost in pounds, and amount in litres. In the settings (opening page - 3 dots at the top r/h) you can specify units in UK mpg and currency in pounds. It then calculates everything automatically...
