MPG

Post by myate » Thu Jan 26, 2017 8:32 am

Curious to what everybody who has their C-HR is getting re: mpg. I've filled up twice now, and both times getting 54 mpg. Mostly short drives, but a couple of longer ones. No motorway running as there are no motorways where I live!!
EDIT: Hybrid 1.8

Too early to say for me as still on first tank of petrol, but I had a Prius before this and averaged 54 over 4 yrs, with short journeys in the winter going down to 45-48 so I think 54 on short journeys at this timeof year is pretty good.

So on those figures over 1700miles is it really worth paying the extra for the hybrid? So much below the official figures.

After 2645km. (1640 miles) my MPG is even lower - 48.4.
I consider this normal since the temperatures where I live are between -20 C and -5 C and my commute is short ~10km (6mi), thus the engine is running constantly. Even if it warms enough to switch to EV-mode, it cools down within couple of minutes and starts again.

Julianog - probably a noob question but what are you using to put those MPG figures in your footer?

I would be really happy with 50 MPG on my normal journey profile - 2 daily 5 mile trips with 3 minutes at 30 and the rest at 70. I've never managed to get a petrol engine above 40 MPG and I've tried a few. I've never been a Diesel fan.

OP, it may help if you stated in your post if you are running a hybrid or not, if the 1.2 is it manual or CVT?

Otherwise everyone else is comparing apples with pears :)
